We bought our first house thinking it would be a "starter home." Something that we would live in for 5 years...MAX! The first few years we loved and tended our home and made some necessary repairs. New windows, furnace, insulation, fencing, and some other cosmetic items were all done. It was exciting to paint walls and rip up carpet in something we could call "ours." At some point we gave up. Perhaps we got overwhelmed or we got a bad case of the "Jones' got it better." Maybe we just thought it wasn't good enough or big enough for our ever growing family. Projects have piled up and many half done items sit around the house and we sit unhappy.
I was looking at real estate ads today and I dreamed of my newer, bigger, better and then my life will be perfect house. I sent ads to my husband and got him excited about new locations and opportunities. Then I realized, I've been planted HERE and I forgot to BLOOM. We have been given a wonderful blessing...a home to live in. It is time for our family to get working on appreciating and cultivating the blessing we have.
I hope to use this blog as a place to keep track of my goals, projects, and ideas. I want to remember the great blessing that we have and express gratitude though my words and actions. If you have comments or suggestions while we're on this journey, I'd love to hear it...but only if you're nice ;)
